New Look for the Public Authority Services Website
Clear information and easy access to Public Authority (PA) Services is high priority for PA. One recent step toward this goal has been to update and improve the PA website.
Fall Semester Class Registration Opens in August
For more than a decade, Public Authority (PA) Services by Sourcewise has offered free care provider classes specifically created to respect the IHSS Consumer-Directed model of care.
Care Providers Can Register for Free Training
The free classes for IHSS Independent Care Providers have been specifically designed for IHSS and emphasize the consumer-directed model of care that IHSS is based on. The consumer-directed model recognizes the consumer as the boss, supervisor, and ultimate trainer in how and when authorized services should be completed.
Enroll in Free ESL Classes
The FUHSD Adult School offers several classes for free, including English as a Second Language (ESL) and a new ESL Health Foundations class specific for Health Care providers.
New Provider Training Class Registration
In-Home Supportive Services care providers who wish to register for Public Authority Services’ free training classes will be able to do so online beginning in Fall 2021.

Providers Receive Pay for Training Class Completion
Beginning with the 2019 fall semester classes, IPs will receive a $25 incentive payment for each PA class they complete.
Understand Your IHSS Authorized Services: “Other Shopping and Errands”
These errands may include: picking up prescriptions; delivering late payments to prevent a utility being shut off; and shopping for non-food supplies that you need to remain living safely at home.
