CalFresh is a program that assists in stretching an already tight food budget. It can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and more. This program provides a means to improve your health and meet your nutritional needs.
If you have limited income, you may be eligible. You are NOT eligible if you get Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Social Security Retirement benefits are okay. If you are not sure what kind of benefits you receive, call the CalFresh Hotline for assistance: (877) 847-3663.
You may apply online (benefitscal.org), or ask for an application to be mailed to you.
When you turn in your application, your county CalFresh office will call you to schedule an interview. You may request a phone interview or other accommodation.
